The following contagions are treated by Augmentin: pneumonia, sinusitis, and urinary tract infections, ear infections, bronchitis, and infections of the skin also. It is not used for the treatment of viral infections.
The medicine must be taken on a regular basis either with food or not washed down with water. Do not exceed the prescribed amount for better effect. In case you left out a dose do not try to make up for it taking two at once. The drug requires room temperature and cool and dry place for storage.
Should you have allergy to amoxicillin or clavulanate potassium or any other penicillin antibiotics make your doctor aware of it. Liver or kidney problems, mononucleosis, intolerance to cephalosporin antibiotics are contraindications for the therapy with the drug. Breast-feeding and nursing women should be careful with the medicine and get a proper consultation beforehand. Be cautious taking the remedy in complex with allopurinol, probenecid or another antibiotic.
